It will become clear within the first hour of this session that probably the vast majority of the people in your company do not understand the most basic question in business - Do they know how to make a profitable decision? For lean, the concept of understanding value is a basic one, and customers demonstrate value in a basic way - are they willing to pay for it or not? Cost accounting was fine for the 1950's to the 80's, when Pushing product to the market was the way, and paying by piece count was the way. But to survive in business in the 201X decade, everyone in your company needs to know how to make profitable operations decisions using lean accounting.
The conflict between MRP solutions and Lean pull systems is one of the largest faced by companies today. DDMRP helps solve this conflict with a simple set of effective, common sense tools that establish a "system wide" pull methodology. Once we know where the bottleneck is, we typically start with 5S. Cleaning up and organizing the biggest problem area is a great way to get to know how the workstation runs. It also allows us to begin team building with the people who are struggling to make it run every day. Just doing 5S often increases flow through the entire system. Next, observation and basic data collection at the bottleneck will help us figure out what tool is needed next, and what level of training the team requires. In every iteration of the Continuous Improvement cycle, we'll let the problem at the bottleneck lead us to the tool required to fix that problem. Training on that tool will depend on the team's aptitude on that tool.
Critical Chain Project Management, Clouds, Pull Systems, Design of Experiments, etc., there are many more tools in Lean, Theory of Constraints, and Six Sigma. We'll use the proper tool at the proper time to help solve the issues that is preventing you from reaching your goal. We'll avoid overwhelming your organization with too many tools and too much training.
